John Daly finished his 1st round today at the Pebble Beach AT&T National Pro-Am at -7 and tied for 3rd! He had an impressive day on the course ending with a 65, his lowest 1st round score in a decade. He also had on some sharp pants!! Go get ’em John!!
Mario Balotelli finally scores his first goal for Liverpool and it sealed the win with the final score ending 3-2 against Tottenham. It looked like an easy shot for him, but that doesn’t matter. I predict he will be scoring more goals in the very near future.
I’m sad to say that I’m only now learning about the accomplishments of Billy Casper who won 51 times on the PGA tour. He was amazing golfer and equally amazing family man who was married to his high school sweetheart Shirley for 62 years. They have 11 children together including 6 adopted children. Rest in peace Billy Casper.
The Farmers Insurance Open had a lot of drama this week. It started off with Tiger Woods withdrawing due to injury then Phil Mickelson missing the cut. On the final day today, the winner was determined after a four-man playoff where Jason Day beat out English, Stallings, and Holmes to take home the trophy. Congratulations!!
It could have gone either way, but the Boston Bruins took the lead in the 3rd quarter after Loui Eriksson scored to clinch the game, final score 2-1. Way to go Bruins!!!
What an incredible goal today by James Rodriguez!! Real Madrid beat Sevilla 2-1 and the match was intense. The ref gave out 9 yellow cards if that gives you any idea of how it went!
Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez and Sergio Ramos both battling for the ball as Real Madrid gets some training in today prior to their match tomorrow vs Sevilla. They easily beat Real Sociedad 4-1 on Saturday so tomorrow’s match should be more of a challenge. Don’t miss the Madrid derby this Saturday against Atletico–it should be a great game!
What an awesome Super Bowl!! Congratulations to the New England Patriots!
The Waste Management Phoenix Open has been a blast to watch! It’s like they combined a golf tournament with a rock concert. lol I was watching it live yesterday when Francesco Molinari of Italy aced the 16th hole which made the stadium crowd go crazy cheering…and throwing a lot of beer! Congrats to Molinari on a great day yesterday. Still waiting to see who wins the tournament today.
Wow!! Yesterday’s Copa del Rey soccer match between Atletico Madrid and Barcelona was awesome and intense! Barca ended up defeating Atletico 3-2 (4-2 aggregate) to advance to the Copa semi-finals, but it was a fun as well as frustrating match to watch. Fernando Torres had another amazing goal in the first minute to put Atletico ahead early and the drama continued from there. The match was very physical which led to some missed calls by the ref and some questionable calls and even a shoe thrown by a player that almost hit a linesman! Having to work a match like that, the ref should probably get paid double what he normally gets paid. lol
